Budapest is split into two distinct halves, Buda and Pest. This piece is inspired by the Pest half of Budapest which is known for being lively, modern and very busy. This piece is meant to act as an embodiment of this noisy environment. The piece takes a lot of influence from Hungarian folk music and it manipulates two folk tunes which my parents used to sing to me as a child.
